In July 2006, we traveled to Paris, France on our way to Chennai, India. Our trip started in Tallahassee, Florida and we changed planes in Atlanta, Georgia. Then we flew in Delta Airlines to the Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) International Airport in Paris, France. By the time we arrived it was almost 11 AM. We found one company that would take some of our extra bags and store it outside the airport for several days for approximately €35/day. So we shed some of our heavy bags with them.
When we stpped out of the airport our friends, the Bacsas were waiting for us. We hopped onto the sub-way to a destination in Paris that was closest to where we had booked a hotel (Montmartre area). Once of the sub-way we hired a taxi to get to our Hotel. Even though we had booked using the Internet the Hotel wouln't accept credit card. Fortunately, there was an ATM with VISA logo and I was able to withdraw some Euros for fairly low charge of €2.
After a quick lunch we headed via sub-way to see the Louvre Museum. Unfortunately it was too late to see the museum completely if we decided to go inside, so instead we bought advance tickets for the another day. Then we slowly started walk around the museum and went into the Tuileries Garden and proceeded slowly by foot toward Eiffel Tower. We took the elevator half way and walked up and finally down using the steps.
The next day we visited the Notre Dame Cathedral in Ile de la Cite with our friends and had lunch. Soon after our friends bid good bye and we proceeded toward Champs-Elysees via the Palais de Justice & Sainte-Chapelle via the sub-way and went to see the Arc de Triomphe. Then we walked along the famous Champs-Elysees toward the boat company called Bateaux-Mouches Boats in the river Seine. We took an one hour boat along the rive Seine.
The next morning we left our Hotel and walked to Monte Marte's Basilica of Sacred Heart, and spent few hours in the surrounding area. Then we took sub-way ride to Louvre Museum and spend the rest the day seeing it. The next morning we took a taxi to Paris airport and left for India.
